This EXTENDABLE Hand Dredge body has been expertly manufactured to allow the use of all features found with FissureMan 2" and 1.5" Hand Dredge models. With its double thread collection head connection point, this tool will allow an existing or new owner to setup and use one or the another standard FissureMan collection heads with any nozzle configuration available for those collection heads to provide the ability to access and allow easy retrieval of gold or gem bearing materials under various prospecting conditions. With its extendable body configuration the EXTENDABLE Hand Dredge body will allow a prospector to reach places that otherwise might have been deemed too far, too deep or inaccessible by other more common means when all that was needed was were extra inches to get at the collectable material.

The EXTENDABLE reach design performs a multifold purpose:

The first and foremost reason for this design is the additional overall reach a prospector will have to gather material down deep in that stream bed hole where the water is a bit too deep to venture into further without a wetsuit, facemask and snorkel. Let's face it, we all don't have wetsuits or the ability to get down deeper like a diver but we do have waders and/or knee boots that will get us just so far. As soon as we get to the upper limits of these waterproof accessories we can't go further without having to get dried out and warmed up afterward. The EXTENDABLE allows a farther reach to get to those depths than any other hand dredge that has come before without the need to be a diver.

This design allows access to material deep back under large boulders or other structure that has been sniped previously by shorter hand dredges but now cannot be reached under any further due to physical length constraints.
The FissureMan EXTENDABLE when fully outfitted with a collection head and sniping nozzle can ultimately be as long as 72" - that's a full 5 feet long from nozzle tip to pump handle.

The pump is set up so that with the hand dredge extended or collapsed the piston movement remains the same, easy to use 24" piston stroke that all standard FissureMan 1.5" and 2" hand dredges use.

 Another important attribute to an adjustable length would be the ability to adjust the length to a size that best fits the user height. If your 6'5" tall for instance, a standard hand dredge length of 42" may be too short to use without excessive bending over to get to the correct or comfortable position for typical sniping activities. The EXTENDABLE allows the operator to adjust to any length up to an additional 22" to be best suited for the need and physical height of the user.

The picture shown below exhibits just how much longer the EXTENDABLE can be when compared to a standard hand dredge length. It provides up to a full 22" extra body length with a simple pull on the two body segments.

Since this device is extendable AND collapsable while also being modular in design it can easily be transported or stored with no more effort than a standard FissureMan Hand Dredge.

If you already own a FissureMan 1.5" Hand Dredge such as the BLUEDOG,  DIVER-DOWN, GOLD-N-ROD, or FISSUREMAN II purchased after 6/7/2010 the EXTENDABLE Hand Dredge Body will be able to use every existing component you already have with no special alteration except swapping out the pump body.
